Climate hawks just got their own Project 2025.
Evergreen Action, the climate advocates who laid the groundwork for President Joe Biden’s energy agenda, released a plan this week outlining how Vice President Kamala Harris could build on the current administration’s policies if she wins the White House in November.
Dubbed the Evergreen Action Plan 2.0, the strategy proposes ideas for sector-specific decarbonization policies — including emerging opportunities unlocked by technological advances and the Inflation Reduction Act’s historic climate spending. It also includes a new focus on beefing up democratic institutions and reforming the Supreme Court.
“The core of this plan is using high-quality union labor to build out a national power grid underwritten by a national 100 percent clean electricity standard,” said Craig Segall, Evergreen’s vice president. Cheap, renewable power could give the U.S. industry a competitive edge, he added.
