GE Vernova will spin off from General Electric on April 2, GE announced Thursday.
The energy company’s separation from GE has been expected, but the exact launch date wasn’t announced until this week. The spinoff will complete GE’s separation into three distinct public companies that focus on energy, aerospace and health care.
The “announcement clears the way for the historic launches of GE Vernova and GE Aerospace, completing our transformation into three independent, investment-grade industry leaders,” GE Chair and CEO and GE Aerospace CEO H. Lawrence Culp Jr. said in a statement.
Starting April 2, GE Vernova will be independent and led by CEO Scott Strazik.
